Mina D. Nguyen, Psy.D.*
Assistant Professor, Department of Pediatrics, and the Child Development and Rehabilitation Center at Oregon Health & Science University.
Dr. Nguyen received her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology in 2000, from the California School of Professional Psychology. She completed a neuropsychology internship at UC Davis Medical Center and a post-doctoral fellowship at Childrens Hospital Oakland specializing in Pediatric Psychology. After fellowship, Dr. Nguyen was on faculty at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles from 2001 to 2007, in the Divisions of Clinical Immunology and Plastic Surgery. She also spent time at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine in the Maternal Child and Adolescent Clinic completing neuropsychological evaluations to patients infected and affected with HIV/AIDS.
Currently, at OHSU, Dr. Nguyen continues her work as a pediatric psychologist. She is involved with the Feeding and Autism Clinic and Stem Cell research. She consults with referring physicians and/or multidisciplinary medical teams, as well as provide short-term and long-term individual, family and group psychotherapy. Diagnostic issues include: family trauma, adherence to medical treatment, adjustment to chronic illness, depression, anxiety, ADD/HD, learning disability and PDD/Autism. Furthermore, Dr. Nguyen performs comprehensive psychodiagnostic and neuropsychological evaluations to rule out neurological complications and developmental disabilities due to chronic illness. She also has a specialty in infant testing and research using the Bayley Scales of Infant Development-III.
