supplemental surveillance

To support program planning, OODH conducts supplemental surveillance of youth and adults with disabilities. This requires adding questions to two existing data collection systems:

  • Oregon Healthy Teens survey (OHT)
  • Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS).

Although basic disability surveillance using the BRFSS will be conducted as a core activity, this activity provides the opportunity to analyze BRFSS data in greater depth by including items on type and length of functional limitation and on environmental barriers, to further inform program activities for people with disabilities.
