Oregon Office on Disability and Health

An Integrated Approach

Our office takes an integrated approach to health, wellness, and disability.

Health and Wellness

OODH takes a holistic approach to health and wellness that acknowledges the physical, social, vocational, intellectual, spiritual, emotional, and environmental aspects of a person's life.

Disability

OODH considers disability a fluid concept that involves the complex interaction between a person's abilities and the physical and social environment. OODH defines secondary conditions as aspects of living that negatively impact a person's ability to achieve optimal health and wellness which emerge from underlying impairment or health condition. "Knowledge which is unable to support action is not genuine " -- Rudolph Virchow, 1879.

Staff

OODH staff are located on the OHSU campus in the Child Development and Rehabilitation Center and in the Oregon Department of Human Services building. Visit our OODH Staff page for acomplete listing of our staff and their contact information.
