Disability & Public Health Curriculum Project
The Oregon Office on Disability and Health (OODH) is pleased to reveal the availability of our Disability and Public Health course curriculum for Schools of Public Health. The creation of the curriculum materials during 1999-2000 school year was made possible by funding from the Centers for Disease Control through the Association of Teachers of Preventive Medicine. Starting in 2001, this curriculum has been taught in the graduate program within the Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at the OHSU School of Medicine. In 2004 all course materials were formalized into the current curriculum outline now being offered to Schools of Public Health nationwide.
We are excited to announce that a contract is in place with the American Public Health Association. They will be publishing a textbook based on the course content of this curriculum. Look for this textbook to be available for purchase in the summer of 2009.
A summary of the curriculum is available.
