Occupational Therapy Fellowship
The Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Fellowship in Pediatric Occupational Therapy is a post-degree program that provides training of occupational therapy professionals in the care of children with Neurodevelopmental and related disabilities. These disabilities include cerebral palsy, autism, Down Syndrome, developmental coordination disorder, and genetic disorders.
LEND programs are funded throughout the country by a grant by the Health Resources and Services Administration's Maternal and Child Health Bureau. The LEND program at the CDRC is recognized as one of the premier training programs in the country for training medical professionals in clinical care, research, community outreach, and advocacy for children with Neurodevelopmental disabilities. An OT fellow would have the opportunity to collaborate with other trainees in speech and language pathology, psychology, social work, physical therapy, and developmental pediatrics.
An Occupational Therapy Fellow in the LEND program at CDRC should be a top student in the field of occupational therapy. A fellow should have a strong interest in becoming a leader in the field of pediatric occupational therapy through teaching, research, clinical practice, and/or administration or policy-making.
The Fellowship in Occupational Therapy includes:
- Active participation in clinical care at CDRC clinics in Doernbecher Children's Hospital
- Mentored research project and research presentation
- Community placement
- Leadership and teaching opportunities
- Weekly interdisciplinary forums with LEND fellows with topics related to community outreach, policy development, and family issues that affect children with disabilities
- Opportunities for continuing education

Our current occupational therapy staff consists of 11 knowledgeable occupational therapists with many years of education and experience in pediatric evaluation and treatment.
