Participatory Action Research (PAR)
Researchers, people with disabilities and family members have common goals related to improved outcomes, full participation and quality of life.
To achieve these common goals it is important to work together. People with disabilities and family members bring important expertise and understanding of the issues and challenges facing them.
Researchers bring scientific knowledge and research methods as well as an ability to obtain funding. The process of working together in all aspects of research is called Participatory Action Research (PAR).
