Able corps program

ABLECorps trains and places AmeriCorps members in organizations throughout Oregon that are serving people with disabilities, striving to reach self determination and employment goals.
The Center on Self Determination (CSD) ABLECorps Program at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) is federally funded by Oregon Volunteers. The CSD recognizes the importance of successful inclusive volunteer opportunities for individuals with disabilities and their path to meaningful employment and self sufficiency.
ABLECorps Program Goals:
- Promote self determination, independent living skills, job skills development, and self advocacy to people with disabilities
- Meet critical unmet needs of people with disabilities who are seeking employment
- Further the capacities of grassroots disability organizations to serve individuals with disabilities in their communities
- Assist individuals with disabilities in their efforts towards employment and out of poverty
