Darlene Daniels, MS
Darlene Daniels, Research Associate, has a Masters of Special Education and certification in Vision Impairment. She has been a part of Design to Learn Projects, and has specialized in communication strategies for individuals with severe and multiple disabilities, for over 15 years. Her professional experience is broad and includes working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and educational teams as a part of evidence-based educational research endeavors.
Darlene continues to work with Dr. Charity Rowland, and Design to Learn Projects, on the online Communication Matrix, an educational assessment tool for teachers & parents. Darlene is also an integral part of the REKNEW Projects (Reclaiming Expressive Knowledge in Elders with Communication Impairments) where she works with the aging population and their caregivers using low-tech communication systems. This research seeks to reduce language barriers and improve communication in those with neurodegenerative diseases.
