Audiology Fellowship

The Program

The Child Development and Rehabilitation Center (CDRC), is housed in Doernbecher Children's Hospital. CDRC provides a wide range of diagnostic and management services ranging from newborn hearing screening to state-of-the-art diagnostic procedures including ABR and Otoacoustic Emissions to diagnose hearing disorders in children with a variety of developmental disabilities and special health care needs. Audiological services are offered in an interdisciplinary manner in clinic formats such as cerebral palsy, cleft lip and palate, genetics, child development, neuromuscular disorders, and mental retardation.

The Audiology Outpatient Clinic operates in conjunction with the Department of Otolaryngology within the Oregon Health & Science University. A full range of diagnostic audiological services are offered both independently and in conjunction with physicians. Services include differential diagnosis, vestibular testing, cochlear implants, amplification, and all electrophysiological evaluations.

In addition to the clinical experience, the Fellowship Program focuses on the development of leadership skills through participation in community organizations and through the development of an interdisciplinary project. While the exact nature of the project is based on the interests of the individual Fellow, the objectives are to develop clinical research skills that may be utilized once the Fellowship program has been completed.

Applicant Qualifications

Applicants must have an advanced degree in audiology and have met all of the requirements for certification of clinical competence with the exception of the Clinical Fellowship Year. The applicant should submit a letter interest to receive more specific information on the fellowship program and on the application process.

Terms

The Fellowship begins in August and ends in July. Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their applications by November 15.
