Project Benefits
The self governing process allows the participants to select the direction and priorities of the project. Current participants greatly value the regular opportunity to share experiences and collaborate with one another.
Participation in the MED Project confers immediate access to policy and evidence consultation experts to assist decision makers in complex issues.
The MED staff sifts through the enormous volumes of information available and helps decision makers focus on information that is high quality and relevant, and then presents this in a way that is useful to policy makers. MED staff also identifies areas where good quality evidence does not exist.
Information that is readily available and easily accessible is often not very reliable, and may not be a good indication of what is actually known on a topic. MED goes beyond what is available in the commercial market by focusing on the unique needs of MED participants, and by working directly with policy makers to address the inadequacies and conflicting information often found in some commercial products.
