Emergency Medical Services

The Oregon Office of Rural Health supports Oregon's rural EMS agencies in meeting their mission and the needs of their communities.
As part of the mission of the Flex Program our office is dedicated to helping rural communities improve their access to quality Emergency Medical Services. Below are the activities that we are currently pursuing to support Oregon's rural EMS agencies.

The 2005 Oregon Legislature passed Senate Bill 31 which grants up to $250 in personal income tax credits, beginning with tax year 2006, to eligible EMTs who volunteer their services to rural Oregon communities.

The National Rural Health Association along with the National Association of EMS Directors is collecting information to bring to a national level of attention your issues, barriers, best practices (actually implemented or currently contemplated), or ideas/priorities concerning the provision of EMS in rural/frontier America.
