The National Rural Health Association (NRHA), I-CASH and the AgriSafe Network are working to increase the number of clinicians qualified to provide agricultural occupational health care to farmers, ranchers, and agricultural workers. Through a limited number of competitive training stipends, our organizations’ mutual goal is to increase the number of clinicians trained to offer AgriSafe Services.
There are 2 categories of competitive stipends available:
- Stipends available at a funding level of $1,000 each to attend either the Illinois or the Iowa training. The stipend can be applied to the course tuition, lodging, mileage, or meals for the person attending the training. Limit one per organization.
- Stipends available at a funding level of $700 each to attend the Iowa training that only cover the tuition for attendees from Iowa health care organizations. Limit one per organization.
Iowa’s Center for Agricultural Safety and Health (I-CASH) at The University of Iowa and Southern Illinois University School of Medicine will be offering the 2008 training programs.
