The ORHC is the largest gathering in Oregon dedicated to the important issues of rural health care. Bringing together providers, administrators, patients, activists, policy makers and others who are concerned about health care in rural Oregon, it is an opportunity to help set the agenda. In collaboration with the Oregon Rural Health Association (ORHA), Oregon Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) and the Oregon Rural Practice-based Research Network (ORPRN), the Oregon Office of Rural Health (ORH) strives to bring you the most innovative approaches to addressing today's needs.

Sneak Preview of the 2009 Conference

The 26th Annual Oregon Rural Health Conference, You as a Leader — Rural Oregon’s Natural Resource, focuses on a concept of visualizing yourselves, your clinics, your hospitals, and your communities as healthcare leaders. Conference sessions include success stories of current innovative community programs, unique insights in regard to future possibilities, exciting interactive roundtables hosted by topic experts and much more!

Objectives
  • Provide an opportunity to exchange ideas, information, and expertise among individuals and organizations engaged in or concerned with rural health care issues
  • Equip participants with the tools to decide on the best course of action for their community
  • Provide information on changes affecting the provision of healthcare from community, state and national perspectives
  • Disseminate information and strategies on rural health policy, research, management and practice issues
Who should attend?
Rural health advocates including health care providers, community leaders, clinic and hospital administrators, board members, policy makers, public health professionals, and healthcare students. This is a great networking opportunity. If you are involved in rural health care, this conference is for you!

Conference Highlights

Rural Oregon Hero of the Year
Immediately prior to the conference welcome reception, the debut of this award ceremony will be held from 5-5:30pm on Thursday, November 5.

1st Annual Fundraising Dinner and Silent Auction
Don’t miss the exciting First Annual Fundraising Dinner and Silent Auction. Proceeds will be utilized to subsidize rural volunteer EMT training, assist Oregon rural health clinics in absorbing the costs of uncompensated patient care, and for recruitment and technical assistance services to rural communities. Auction items will soon be viewable on this site. Would you like to donate an auction item? Auction donations are very much appreciated and will be accepted through November 2!
