Proceeds from the sale of the $2.5 million home will benefit the children's hospital in many ways

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Portland (HBA) and CastleRock Homes have teamed up to work a fund-raising miracle for Doernbecher Children's Hospital.  In an effort to raise at least $100,000 for research and patient care, CastleRock has built and donated this year's Doernbecher "Miracle House" on the 2005 NW Natural Street of Dreams.

The tour of homes will be held from July 30 to August 28 at The Quarry at Stafford (http://www.streetofdreamspdx.com/) in Wilsonville.

The Doernbecher donation - comprising the net proceeds of the Miracle House sale - is part of HBA's Home Builders for Miracles program. Launched in 1999, this multiyear pledge seeks to raise $500,000 for the hospital through the sale of Miracle Houses donated by HBA-member builders at home-tour events such as the Street of Dreams.

Listed at $2.5 million, the 6,500-square-foot Northwest contemporary home emulates classic Frank Lloyd Wright designs. It features an open floor plan, whimsical decorative touches in the kitchen and baths, and south-facing window walls with expansive valley views.

"We are proud to be part of this great program," said Certified Master Builder Bob Linnell of CastleRock Homes. "This showplace dwelling will make a spectacular home for the buyers, who will also get the satisfaction of knowing their real-estate investment is helping Doernbecher kids."

The Doernbecher Children's Hospital Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that exists to secure private philanthropic support for Doernbecher Children's Hospital. The foundation raises funds from individuals, companies, foundations and organizations, and invests and manages gifts in accordance with donors' wishes.
