Your Cancer Center Team
At Oregon Health & Science University, the Division of Hematology & Medical Oncology embeds multidisciplinary research, treatment and care for patients with cancer and blood diseases. Disease-specific specialists and scientists from medicine, surgery, radiation therapy, nursing, social work and other areas work together to facilitate the development of individualized diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and patient-centered care for patients. Our approach provides a successful framework that promotes interactions between basic scientists and clinicians treating these disorders by supporting translational, clinical, cancer biology, solid tumor and hematologic malignancies research. We conduct pre-clinical investigations, utilizing modern molecular methods to identify and validate new molecular targets for prognosis, treatment and prevention. This effort expedites bench-to-bedside and bedside-to-bench translation of basic and pre-clinical research by developing phase II studies and moving those with promise to multi-institutional phase III trials. We deliver the promise of molecular medicine to cancer care.
