Social Work Programs

Welcome to the cancer clinics at Oregon Health and Sciences University. Our oncology social work staff strives to assist patients and families by lending emotional support and practical problem solving. Below is a list of support groups, classes and programs sponsored by OHSU. For an exhaustive list of other resources and services or for individual assistance and recommendations, please call one of our Oncology Social Workers listed below.

  • Blood Related Cancer Patients Family Support Group
    Hosted by OHSU and Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
    Meets every Third Thursday from 6:30 - 8:00 pm

  • Breast Cancer Support Group for Young Women
    Ages 18-45, Hosted by OHSU
    Meets the 2nd Thursday of each month, 5:30-7:00pm
    3rd Floor Conference Center-Room 4
  • Infusing Knowledge
    Wednesdays 10-11:30am, CHH 7th Floor Conference Room
    This is a class to introduce patients and families to chemotherapy.
  • Pre-transplant Educational Classes
    Wednesdays from 10 am to 12 noon
    This class is     for those preparing for an autologous (cells from yourself) stem cell transplant

    Thursdays from 10 am to 12 noon
    This class is for those preparing for an allogeneic (cells from someone else) stem cell transplant

  • Prostate Cancer Support Group
    Meets every first Monday of the month, 5:30-7:00 pm
