Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) Program
The CLL Program of the OHSU Center for Hematologic Malignancies is organized to provide you with a comprehensive analysis of the state of your CLL, as well as providing you with insightful information about expectations for long-term survival. CLL is an unusual disease, increasingly identified within the elderly, which is often associated with a very slow and indolent course. One of the major complications of CLL is an enhanced susceptibility to infection for which close attention must be maintained. It is not uncommon for patients with CLL to live 15-20 years, thus the opportunity to maintain long-term relationships with individuals dedicated to the care of CLL patients will be provided for you. During your visit, you will have the opportunity to learn about CLL as well as the newest and most promising treatment options. We will share with you information on the multiple clinical trials that are investigating new agents, including traditional therapies, transplantation, and immunotherapy. Our team of scientists are actively involved in identifying means by which we can determine prognostic information regarding your disease and in teaching you the relative merits of the information received. In providing you the comprehensive information required, we will fully evaluate your disease and work closely with collaborators within the Department of Pathology as well as within your referring physician team. In summary, at the Center for Hematologic Malignancies CLL Clinic, we will provide you with better understanding of the disease and will work with you over the years to maintain its best control, as well as in monitoring you for the associated complications of this disease.
