The Division of Hematology & Medical Oncology has always believed in the value of a multidisciplinary method of researching, treating and caring for patients. Disease-specific specialists and scientists from medicine, surgery, radiation therapy, nursing, social work and other areas work together to facilitate the development of individualized diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and follow-up for patients.
OHSU Cancer Care Center
This center provides expert clinical diagnosis and care of solid tumor cancers and disorders of the blood in adult patients. Our faculty has extensive experience in innovative diagnostic and therapeutic modalities in patients with cancer and hematologic problems. Our comprehensive care programs are provided through interdisciplinary treatment programs in concert with Radiation Oncology and Surgical Oncology. We have interdisciplinary care and research programs in head and neck cancer , breast cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, germ cell tumors, sarcomas, bladder cancer and many other solid tumor malignancies. We also provide treatment programs in benign hematologic disorders such as coagulation disorders, hemophilia, sickle cell disease and bone marrow failures states.
Center for Hematologic Malignancies
The Center for Hematologic Malignancies treats all patients with hematologic disorders. This includes leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and myelodysplasia. The Center offers a wide-range of treatment options, such as bone marrow transplants and clinical trial research. The Center for Hematologic Malignancies is a center in which basic research and clinical trial development is in place for early phase and advanced stage disease of all hematologic malignancy disorders. Areas of emphasis include stem cell transplantation and CML.
