Workers' Compensation - Overview

The Oregon Health & Science University workers' compensation program will be insured by SAIF Corporation for all OHSU employees who are injured on the job on or later than January 1, 2006.

All claims (currently filed or new) with the date of injury of December 31, 2005, or earlier, will be managed by Liberty Northwest.

Any employee filing a claim, whether with Liberty Northwest or with SAIF Corporation, will be provided with identical workers' compensation benefits.

The Workers' Compensation Team of the Risk Management Department is here to:

• Assist employees with workers' compensation claims
• Assist managers and supervisors with workers' compensation claims
• Facilitate modified duty placement for employees
  
• Process claim forms
• Expedite benefits when appropriate
• Serve as a liaison between OHSU, the Workers' Compensation Carrier, the employee’s department, and the medical providers
