PMIS OVERVIEW The PMIS is an "information system consisting of the tools and techniques used to gather, integrate and disseminate the outputs of project management processes. It is used to support all aspects of the project from initiating through closing, and can include both manual and automated systems" (*PMBOK Guide). The ITG PMIS consists of two components: iSTART (IT Scope, Time And Resource Tracking) and EPM (Microsoft Office Enterprise Project Management Solution). In addition to improving project communication, the PMIS enables the consistent and effective application of SDLC processes and PM concepts.
