Windows 2000 FAQ

ITG recommends that everyone upgrade to Windows XP. This FAQ is for those who still use Windows 2000 and are wondering how the Microsoft migration will affect them.

I have Windows 2000. Will I be able to access shared drives (like the J: drive) after the network migration?
After the network migration, ITG-managed Windows 2000 machines will automatically receive a script that will change their login order and map them the new file locations.

I have Windows 2000. How will I access my email and archives after the email migration?

During the mail migration, beginning in mid-May, both ITG-managed machines and unmanaged machines will have access to email through Outlook Web Access, and will have access to email archives through Archive Manager. As soon as it's available, more information on using these two programs will be posted on the email migration page.

Once the mail migration is complete, ITG will automatically upgrade ITG-managed Windows 2000 workstations to Outlook 2003. People with unmanaged Windows 2000 workstations can get Outlook 2003 through the download center.

Is Outlook 2003 training available?
No, ITG Instructor-led training is no longer available, but here are some Outlook 2003 online learning resources. We can only offer free training for Windows XP, Office 2007, and Outlook 2007.

Can I use Office 2000? How about Outlook 2000?

If you have Windows 2000 you should upgrade to Office 2003 and use Outlook 2003. Our resources are limited, so we can only support the newer versions.
