 Invitation to Attend


Pediatric heart surgeons, biomedical engineers, cardiologists, intensivists, scientists, anesthesiologists, pediatric perfusionists and nurses are invited to attend.

Objectives

Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to:

  • Describe current practices and devices used in pediatric mechanical circulatory support and pediatric cardiopulmonary bypass
  • Discuss special pediatric topics such as ECMO, assist pumps, heart transplantation, systemic inflammation, and pulsatile CPB in neonates and infants
  • Review bioengineering applications in pediatric cardiac surgery
  • Identify clinical outcomes using current devices and discuss design aspects for pumps and VADs
