The hand fellow is required to complete at least one clinical or basic science investigation suitable for publication or presentation at a national meeting.

The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery has a research laboratory with a microsurgical training area that is available to the fellow. This well funded facility offers state of the art equipment and is an excellent resource for basic science research. The Orthopaedic Biomechanics Laboratory is a fully equipped research facility.
