Meet the Staff

William Han

Title:
Student

Department:
Radiation Medicine

High School/University:
Westview High School

Interest and Accomplishments:
William Han is a senior at Westview High School. This is his second research project with Dr. Fuss. His first (and still ongoing) project (along with Frank Zhao) from the previous year was on using image processing to track eye movement during radiotherapy of uveal melanomas.

William has always had an interest in mathematics and sciences. Last year, he had interned with medical technology company Welch Allyn in developing a system to test a 12-lead ECG. Though currently interested in molecular biology and medicine, he previously centered his academic focus on engineering, and thus has a strong background in CAD, physics, computer programming (C#, Matlab), and mechanics. He has had a long history in robotics, reaching back to the 7th grade. In addition to his rigorous course load in high school, William is an active member in Speech and Debate, as well as leading FTC and FLL robotics teams over the past years.

Hobbies:
Outside of academia, piano has been a major component of William’s life. William has played the piano for 12 years, and although he is not considering majoring in music, piano will carry on with him through college and beyond.
