Sophia Bornstein received a 2010 RSNA Research Medical Student award
Sophia Bornstein, Ph.D. (MD-PhD graduating Class of 2010), a student in the Medical Scientist Training Program, received a 2010 RSNA Research Medical Student award from the Research & Education Foundation of the Radiological Society of North America.
Dr. Bornstein’s grant title is “Stem Cell Therapy for Anorectal Dysfunction after Pelvic Irradiation”. Drs. Melissa Wong, associat professor of dermatology and cell & developmental biology and Tom Gregory, associate professor & fellowship program for the division of urogynecology, are both NIHI-funded investigators who are the co-scientific mentors for this project. Dr. CR Thomas, Jr. is the sponsor and clinical mentor.
