Four research colleagues from German will be spending an extended period in the department to conduct collaborative research with the OHSU medical physics, IGRT, & SBRT program. Ms. Lena Thomas, a masters degree student at the University of Frankfurt, is working on GATE Monte Carlo code to optimize image reconstruction algorithms for treatment planning PET-CT. Ms. Steffi Kantz is a masters degree student at the Ruprecht-Karls-University in Heidelberg.  She is working on the clinical evaluation of commercially available treatment planning tools for intensity modulated arc therapy. Dr. Anna Simeonova is a faculty member in the Radiation Oncology, Department of University Medical Center Mannheim, University Heidelberg. She is working in the department since September 2007. Her research focuses on radiotherapy treatment of lung carcinoma.
