Dr. Charles R. Thomas, Jr. was an invited speaker for the 1st International Conference on Thymic Malignancies

Dr. Charles R. Thomas, Jr. was an invited speaker for the 1st International Conference on Thymic Malignancies, which was held on August 20th and 21st, 2009 at NIH in Bethesda, Maryland. The main objectives of this conference, hosted by the NCI Medical Oncology Branch, are to gain a better insight into the biology and pathology of thymomas, immunological aspects of thymic dysfunction, preclinical models and surgical management of thymic malignancies, and to discuss the role of radiation therapy and chemotherapy in the treatment of thymic malignancies.  Dr. Thomas spoke on the role of radiotherapy and combined-modality approaches for thymic neoplasms.
