According to Dr. Thomas, "PERT will be focused on high quality state of the art technology-driven patient care as well as research. Furthermore, PERT facilitate close interaction with academic clinicians and scientists, whether intramural (including investigators within the OHSU Cancer Institute, Oregon Graduate Institute, and Oregon Clinical and Translational Research Institute, for example). Partnership with industry, such as our relationships with Varian Medical Systems, Philips Medical Systems, Imaging 3, Calypso Medical Systems, Wacom Co, Ltd., Transpire, Inc., will be further developed. The intermediate and long-term goals are to develop fundable grant proposals, research papers, and patents will be generated during this process.
