Interest and Accomplishments:
Erik Fromme is a physician board-certified in Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. In addition to residency training in Internal Medicine he has completed research fellowships in General Internal Medicine at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is an Assistant Professor in the OHSU Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology, an Assistant Director of the OHSU Center for Ethics and Health Care, and a member of the OHSU Palliative Care Team.

Dr. Fromme's clinical practice includes inpatient (approximately 1/3 cancer patients) and outpatient (100% cancer patients) palliative medicine consultation. Dr. Fromme is the recipient of an NCI K07 Career Development Award in Cancer Prevention, Control, Behavioral Interventions and Population Studies.

The specific aims of this award are to develop and test a tablet computer application that acquires symptom and quality of life data from patients, calculates symptom trends, and generates printed symptom summaries that oncologists and patients can use in their clinic visits.
