OHSU's main campus sits just minutes away from the heart of Portland, Oregon's largest city. Located atop Marquam Hill, OHSU overlooks the Willamette River valley, downtown Portland, and Portland's eastside. Commanding views from the hill capture Mt. Hood to the east, Mt. St. Helens to the north, and the lush reach of the Willamette River basin. |

Driving From the north Go south on I-5 to The Dalles/Salem exit (I-405) south. Follow the directions below for From the West . Follow the signs to OHSU Hospital.
From the south Go north on I-5 towards Portland. As you approach the city, follow the Beaverton/City Center signs. Take the SW 6th Avenue exit and follow the blue hospitals signs. Get into the left lane IMMEDIATELY and turn left on SW Hall and left again on SW Broadway. Get in the right lane immediately, following the blue hospital signs. Stay on SW 6th as it turns into Sam Jackson Park Road, past the Carousel Restaurant and up the hill to OHSU.
From the east Go west on I-84 to the junction with I-5. Cross the Marquam Bridge. Follow the signs to City Center/Beaverton. Take the SW 6th Avenue exit and follow the directions under From the South. Follow the signs to OHSUHospital.
From the west Go east on Highway 26/Sunset Highway toward Portland. Follow signs to The Dalles/Salem (I-405) south. Go through the tunnel, staying in the right hand lane. Take the SW 6th Avenue exit. Turn right onto SW 6th. Stay on SW 6th as it turns into Sam Jackson Park Road, past the Carousel Restaurant and up the hill to OHSU. Follow the signs to OHSU Hospital. |
The No. 8 bus coming from downtown Portland serves OHSU. Take the No. 8 bus labeled "Jackson Park" heading south from downtown.
Buses run from the downtown transit mall on Fifth Avenue and on SW Broadway every 15 minutes during weekdays and every half hour in the evenings and on Saturdays. Call Tri-Met at 503-238-RIDE during weekday office hours for help with specific bus routes and stops. A computerized trip planner is just outside the lobby of OHSU Hospital. |
