Lora Shamblin

Lora has been with OHSU for 17 years and joined the department of Radiation Medicine in January of 2007. She is a single mother of two children, 20 and 16, and just celebrated the big 40 and is loving it! As her children begin to start college and make lives of their own, Lora is pursuing her own dream of becoming a Registered Nurse and is currently fulfilling prerequisite courses to apply for nursing school.
In 2005, Lora won a community service award for her work with the American Red Cross. She excelled at raising blood donations and involving community in supporting this very important organization. She has also worked with abused women through her church teaching them how to get safe and help improve their own lives.
Her favorite hobbies are reading, jogging and playing with her border collie, Rosie.
She states that she feels very welcome in the department and is excited to be a part ofsuch an incredible department and enjoys working with both the staff and the patients.
