NMR Core Facility Instrumentation

magnetic fields warningThe Bruker Avance 400 is a superconducting standard-bore magnet system, operation field at 9.4 Tesla, with active shielding.


Some of its features include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Multinuclear broadband observe (BBO) probe (5 mm sample diameter) with digital tuning covering the range from 15N to 31P, 1H decoupling, and an actively shielded Z-gradient coil.

  • Gradient Spectroscopy accessory for the Avance Series integrated into BSMS (Bruker Smart Magnet System), for generation of gradients up to 50 Gauss/cm.  

  • Variable temperature (VT) range from -100 to +180 °C.  

  • The types of 1D and 2D spectra that can be obtained are 1H, 13C, DEPT, 1D NOE difference, homonuclear decoupling, homonuclear COSY, DQF COSY, GRASP-DQD-COSY, XHCORR, HMQC, HMBC, NOESY, ROESY, TOCSY, COLOC, and several others.
