Karpen Lab

The two small intracellular messengers cAMP and cGMP are known to differentially regulate more than 200 distinct cellular processes.  They play crucial roles in the brain and other organs ranging from vision, learning, and memory to the regulation of heart rate and metabolism.  Our goal is to understand signaling by these messengers in chemical and physical detail.
