Our goals are to educate medical students about the unique physiology, pathophysiology, social, and health care needs of children and their families. The Department of Pediatrics hopes this will be an enjoyable and educationally valuable experience for all students. We value your experiences and evaluation and feedback is used on an ongoing basis to improve our clerkships.

Visiting Student Application & Placement

Welcome to OHSU. We are excited to offer visiting students elective rotations in pediatrics.

Dean's Office Visiting Student Application

In order to become a visiting student you must first complete the application process through the Dean’S office.  The Dean’S office forwards your completed application to the pediatric medical student education coordinator.  The medical student coordinator then finalizes your placement in pediatric electives.

Follow this link to information about completing this part of the visiting student process.

Placement

Students should be aware that rotations are very crowded and the coordinator places students with great care.  Any visiting student whose preferences can't be honored will be notified by phone or e-mail so that additional placement options can be discussed.

Visiting students are encouraged to look over the Open Electives list in the Elective Availability and Assignments section.  If students have problems with their placement or decide to drop the class they should immediately contact Trevor Monteith, Pediatric Student Coordinator, 503-494-3195, monteith@ohsu.edu.
