You will be required to take overnight call during your pediatric clerkship.   For further details about overnight call, please see the Clerkship Orientation Manual.

Students rotating at Emanuel Hospital will have overnight call q5 for the first 4 weeks.   There is no overnight call the final week of the clerkship.

Call schedules are extremely difficult to put together. Considerations may be given to students who notify Dr. Bumsted or Trevor Monteith about needing a night or weekend off before the call schedule is created, so notify right away. Otherwise, outside of very exceptional circumstances (not a husband's birthday party or a friend's baby shower) or illness, changes to the call schedule will not be permitted.

You should receive your call schedule via email a few weeks before the start of the rotation.
