OHSU Students

A few weeks before the start of their rotation students will be sent an email confirmation with their elective course information and instructions. Students are encouraged to look over any materials provided in the elective links down the right side of this page.

If there is a problem with elective registration or if a student wants to drop the elective, please get a hold of Trevor Monteith, pediatric student coordinator, monteith@ohsu.edu, 503-494-3195.

During much of the year, visiting students are being placed in open elective slots. This means that some openings listed at the Dean's office may actually be filled by a visiting student. The best thing to do is contact Trevor Monteith, pediatric student coordinator, monteith@ohsu.edu, 503-494-3195 to make sure electives are actually available. Students may also want to check the elective availability and assignments site.

Visiting Students

The pediatrics department at OHSU has one of the highest volumes of visiting students at OHSU. The department is committed to providing students interesting experiences at OHSU, whether they are interested in specific electives or have come to OHSU to get some exposure to our pediatric residency program.

Visiting students must first complete an application through the Dean's office.  After that, the approved application is passed on the Trevor Monteith, pediatric student coordinator, monteith@ohsu.edu,. 503-494-3195, for placement. If student preferences can't be honored, prospective visiting students will be contacted to see about more options.
