MSTC Elective Rotations

Our goals are to educate medical students about the unique physiology, pathophysiology, social, and health care needs of children and their families. The Department of Pediatrics hopes this will be an enjoyable and educationally valuable experience for all students. We value your experiences and evaluation and feedback is used on an ongoing basis to improve our clerkships.

Provides experience in a broad spectrum of developmental, behavioral, learning and emotional problems in children from infants to 18 years. Clinics include the following: Genetics, Metabolic, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Neonatal Intensive Care follow-ups, Autism, Learning Disability, ADHD, medication evaluation and management as well as others. Clinic assignments can be adjusted to the interests of the student to some extent. Because the rotation consists of outpatient clinics, there is no night call or weekend duty.

 

Eugene:

There is also an option to do the elective at the CDRC facility in Eugene. The clinics are very similar. Housing is free and provided through out Peace Health extension program in Eugene.

OHSU students

 

On the morning of the first day of your rotation dial the OHSU paging operator at 4-9000. Ask them to page Peter Blasco, MD (12069). They will connect you. Find out where to meet your team.

 

Visiting Students

 

On the first day of your elective after you are done with orientation and have your name badge,  dial the OHSU paging operator at 4-9000. Ask them to page Peter Blasco, MD (12069). They will connect you. Find out where to meet your team.
