MSTC Elective Rotations

Our goals are to educate medical students about the unique physiology, pathophysiology, social, and health care needs of children and their families. The Department of Pediatrics hopes this will be an enjoyable and educationally valuable experience for all students. This subspecialty offers an opportunity for a clinical experience in pediatric endocrinology. Outpatient clinics occupy three days a week. The elective emphasizes the pathophysiology, clinical manifestations and treatment of endocrine disorders with reading and review sessions in relevant areas. Assignments include in-hospital consultations and review of laboratory  results.

Instructions for students on their first day:

 

OHSU students

 

On the morning of the first day of your rotation dial the OHSU paging operator at 4-9000. Ask them to page the pediatric endocrinology attending on call. They will connect you. Find out where to meet your team.

 

Visiting Students

 

On the first day of your elective, after orientation and after you get your ID badge, dial the OHSU paging operator at 4-9000. Ask them to page the pediatric endocrinology attending on call. They will connect you. Find out where to meet your team.

 

Please realize that you will need to be excused from your rotation to attend required computer training during your first few days on the rotation.
