Our goals are to educate medical students about the unique physiology, pathophysiology, social, and health care needs of children and their families. The Department of Pediatrics hopes this will be an enjoyable and educationally valuable experience for all students. Students participate in congenital heart clinics, cardiac consultations, journal club, and patient care. Reading ECGs, observing echocardiograms, and cardiac catheterizations are also part of this experience.

Instructions for Cardiology students:

 

Jodi Leonard is the student / resident administrative contact, in support of Dr. Robin Shaughnessy, for our Division.  Please feel free to contact her at any time with any questions or concerns.  Her extension is 4-2194 and her office CDRC 3226. 

Jodi Leonard will email an information packet to all students. If students do not receive an email from Ms. Leonard, they should contact her via email at leonarjo@ohsu.edu  or phone 4-2194.

 

OHSU Students

 

Please come to Child Development and Rehabilitation Center (CDRC) room 3220 on your first day at 8:30 am for Monday morning sign-in.  You will also want to talk with Dr. Robin Shaughnessy on your first day.  She will likely be at sign-in, but in the event she is not, please page her.  Her pager number is 10314, or you can call our operators 4-9000 and ask them to page Dr. Shaughnessy while you wait on the line.  They will connect you.

 

Visiting students

After your orientation and any initial computer classes, please connect with Dr. Robin Shaughnessy.   Her pager number is 10314, or you can call our operators 4-9000 and ask them to page Dr. Shaughnessy while you wait on the line.  They will connect you. Please realize that you will need to be excused from your rotation to attend required computer training during your first few days on the rotation.
