Brain and Other Central Nervous System Tumors

• An estimated 18,500 new cases of brain and other central nervous system tumors are diagnosed each year (source Neurosurgery Research and Education Foundation - NREF).
  
• In Oregon 5,300 new cases are diagnosed each year (source Central Brain Tumor Registry of the United States - CBTRUS).

 
A team of physicians, nurses, neuropsychologists and preclinical researchers work together to meet the challenges of successfully treating people with brain tumors. The OHSU team uses a variety of approaches. If surgery is necessary, neurosurgical therapies for skull base and pituitary tumors, acoustic neuromas, and vascular lesions (aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations) are offered.
