Biography

Susan Swartz Woods, MD, MPH
Post-doctoral fellow (VA)

Susan received an MD at Oregon Health and Science University and a Master of Public Health at the University of Washington. She has practiced general internal medicine in Massachusetts and Oregon, and completed an HSR&D fellowship at the Puget Sound VA Medical Center. Following ten years of work integrating tobacco treatment into clinical and public health systems across Maine, Susan is now focusing on consumer informatics.

Current research interests are integrating health communications into clinical care and using personal health records (PHR) to improve patient outcomes. Research has included telephonic behavioral interventions, social marketing, comparative data feedback, clinical trials, employer health improvement, and practice improvement including Clinical Collaborative models.
