Academics: FAQ: Summer Biomedical Informatics InternshipWho is eligible to apply for an internship? College Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors interested in Biomedical Informatics. It helps to have a background in Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics, but it is not required. Will the intern work with a specific faculty member? No, there are currently no guarantees as to whom you will work with, but you are welcome to indicate a preference. Where are the internships located? On Campus at Oregon Health & Science University Biomedical Information Communication Center (BICC) Student Labs Is this a paid internship? Yes, Interns are paid $10 per hour. Internships last 10 weeks during summer months. Interns should plan to work 40 hours per week. Is housing assistance provided? OHSU does not have student housing. College Housing Northwest is an organization that oversees housing at Portland State University. They lease affordable dorm units that are usually available June 16 – September 21. Go to www.pdx.edu/cegs and search "The Ondine" or "The Broadway". For more information, call Doug at 503.725.4336. How do I travel to and from OHSU? Parking is at a premium at OHSU, so it can be very difficult to drive every day. Most employees take public transportation to work. Is there an application deadline? Yes, April 1. How do I apply? The main application can be submitted online.
