Q: What are the prerequisites to enter your program?
A: Applicant will have an undergraduate degree, and have verification statement showing successful completion of ADA approved DPD Program.
Q: I am a returning student so how do I find out if I meet the requirements to enter your program?
A: Please speak with Dr. Mary Cluskey at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon to find out how you can prepare yourself to enter the OHSU Internship Program.
Q: Do I need a degree to enter the program?
A: Yes, you do.
Q: Do I need an undergraduate degree?
A: Yes, you need either BS or BA.
Q: What kind of GPA do require?
A: The selection committee looks at the overall application packet. Past students have had a wide range of GPA from 2.9 to 4.0
Q: Is there a minimum GPA required to enter the program?
A: The Internship Program does not specify a minimum GPA. It is an important part of the applicant's profile, but consideration is also given to work experience related to nutrition and foodservice; a commitment to physical fitness and wellness; and volunteerism/leadership related to nutrition.
Q: What is the cost for the Internship?
A: Please see admissions/cost section on our website. Please note that costs are subject to change and do change on an annual basis.
Q: Will the internship pay for my living costs?
A: No, the internship program does not pay for living costs. We encourage applicants to consult with OHSU financial aid office for information on student loans. The Financial Aid Office can be found at the following link .
Q: What is the OHSU code that I should indicate on my FAFSA Form when applying for financial aid?
A: The OHSU code for FAFSA Form is 004883.
Q: Do you offer scholarships?
A: The ADA foundation offers scholarships to dietetic interns and graduate students. One scholarship is targeted for Oregon graduate students. No scholarships are offered directly through the OHSU programs.
Q: Do you offer stipends?
A: Stipends are not available to OHSU Dietetics & Nutrition students.
Q: Do we need a car?
A: You need personal reliable transportation to and from offsite rotations.
Q: Where are your rotations located?
A: Supervised practice assignments are made throughout Oregon/Southern Washington in both rural and urban communities.
Q: Can we be employed while in the internship?
A: We do not encourage employment due to the intensive rotation experiences and course work requirements.
Q: What is a day like in the internship?
A: Every Monday there are full class lectures from 8am - 4pm, Tuesdays-Fridays are full day practice experiences at different sites.

Q: Where is the application form? And do we use the ADA application form? We do not use the ADA application form.
A: Please use the application and other forms which are posted on our website.
Q: Can you mail an application to me?
A: We do not mail out forms. To download an application and other forms, please see the Admission section on our website. You can load Adobe Acrobat from our website if you need it to open and download forms.
Q: What should I include in my application packet?
A: Please include an application form downloaded off our website, along with 3 recommendations forms, a personal statement, all your official transcripts from all colleges & universities attended, along with a check for $120.00 made payable to Dietetics and Nutrition Program. This is a processing fee.

Q: Can an applicant send official transcripts and/or other required supporting documents after the application packet?
A: Yes, other materials required for the application packet can be mailed separately from the application, but we strongly recommend that a complete application packet be submitted at one time.
Q: What is the Match Program? And how does it work?
A: OHSU Dietetic Internship participates in the ADA computer D&D digital matching of interns with internship programs. Please contact your DPD advisor for details and mark send cards.
Q: What is the institutional code for OHSU if I want to send my GRE scores to you?
A: The institutional code is 4865
Q: Do you require GRE scores for Internship Program?
A: No, we do not need the GRE scores for the Internship Program, but it is required for the Coordinates Masters Program, as well as for the Masters in Clinical Nutrition Program.
Q: What is the length of the internship program?
A: The duration of the internship program is usually 10 month. The coordinated masters can be completed in 7 quarters or approximately 2 years.
Q: Do you certify your graduates to be RD's?
A: No, after successful completion of the internship program, the graduate receives a verification statement documenting successful completion of the accredited dietetic internship and eligibility to apply to take the national CDR examination.
Q: What are the employment opportunities available to graduates of your program?
A: Most of our graduates have employment opportunities presented to them while still in the internship. But, interns cannot begin employment until after graduation. The internship office also forwards job postings to interns about to graduate and past graduates of the program.
Q: What is the deadline for application packet submission to the internship office?
A: Applicants normally start submitting application packets from the end of December through mid-February. The actual deadline is different every year. Please see this year's deadline on our Admissions pages on our website.
Q: Do you offer a tour of OHSU campus?
A: We encourage interested applicants to make an appointment to visit the internship office on OHSU campus, and to tour the campus afterwards at their leisure.
