The Combined DI/Masters track allows students eligible to enter the Dietetic Internship and interested in obtaining a Master of Science Degree simultaneously the option of combining the two programs. To be eligible for the Combined DI/Masters track, applicants must meet the requirements for both the Dietetic Internship and the Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition.
Combined DI/Masters students are pre-selected for the dietetic internship component of the program. Applications for the Combined DI/Masters track are due January 1. Pre-selected students will be notified of their acceptance into the Combined DI/Masters track by February 1. Thus students with appointments to the Combined DI/Masters program have positions reserved in the dietetic internship without participating in the computer match through D&D Digital. Applicants who are not pre-selected for the Combined DI/Masters program may participate in the computer match for the OHSU Dietetic Internship.
Four positions each year are reserved for Combined DI/Masters track students and are assigned to the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center - Portland (VAMC). Students may receive financial support from the VAMC if the US Congress appropriates funds. This funding is for the first year of the program only.
The Dietetic Internship component to the program is taken concurrently with master's required coursework. Dietetic Internship course work is offered on the schedule set for the dietetic intern students. Masters course work is scheduled according to when the required courses are offered within the university and program. The Combined DI/Masters program may be completed in 2 years.
