Subinternship and ICU Selectives
 
Courses That Meet the Subinternship Requirement of 4 Weeks

To qualify as a subinternship, the course must be at least 4 weeks in duration and have some overnight call. A typical subinternship experience should include intensive inpatient experience where the student functions, with appropriate supervision, as an intern in evaluating patients, coordinating day to day patient management, coordinating consultations and treatment plans, writing orders and notes, and establishing diagnostic and therapeutic plans.

To qualify as an ICU Selective, the course must be at least 4 weeks in duration and have some overnight call. A typical ICU experience should include intensive inpatient experience where the student functions, with appropriate supervision, as an intern in evaluating patients, coordinating day to day patient management, coordinating consultations and treatment plans, writing orders and notes, and establishing diagnostic and therapeutic plans.
