Personal Health

Medical school can be an overwhelming experience at times. It can be difficult to balance personal needs, family, friends and outside stressors. There are several resources and services available for medical students. In addition to the information found here, a Wellness Resource List from Dr. Molly Osborne is also available.

Relationship Workshop Medical Student Advocacy

March Wellness Center

Current students may use the March Wellness and Fitness Center free of charge.  The center has a pool, basketball court, class space and fitness equipment.  The center also offers many personal wellness and fitness classes.  March Wellness is located at the new South Waterfront Campus in the Center for Health and Healing.

The Healer's Art Elective Course

You may need to learn a new set of study habits, yet you still need exercise, personal time, and other activities that will support you as you learn. To support you in your goals, we offer a series of classes in collaboration with The Institute for the Study of Health and Illness. The classes are designed to help you preserve and strengthen your sense of the physician's work and your ability to avoid professional burnout. View this year's flyer.

Relationship Workshop

Every fall, the SOM hosts relationship workshop that focuses on maintaining and balancing relationships while juggling the demands of medical school. All MS I and MS II students with their spouses/partners/significant others are invited to attend.

Medical Student Advocacy

When things go wrong, there are ombudsmen to talk to confidentially outside of the Dean's Office and accommodations can be available if you ask! This information is listed in the Student Handbook (p. 72).
