OHSU could not have the same powerful impact without the generosity and loyalty of its friends and supporters. Your gifts make a profound difference in the lives of real people.
The following ways to give are offered through the OHSU Foundation:

Matching gifts
Some employers will match your charitable gift dollar-for-dollar. If your employer does not appear in our online matching gift directory, you may want to check directly with your human resources representative. When using this web site to make a gift, please indicate when prompted that your gift will be matched by an employer.
Planned gifts
Gift planning is the process of selecting the best gift vehicles for meeting your long-term financial and philanthropic goals. A brief overview of planned giving options appears below. For more information on planned gifts, visit the Gift Planning section of this web site or contact one of our gift planning officers at 503 228-1730 or 800 462-6608.
Bequests
Gifts by will or revocable living trust may be for a specific dollar amount, a percentage of the total estate or a residual amount remaining after all specific bequests and expenses have been paid. OHSU can also be named as a contingent beneficiary if primary beneficiaries predecease you.
Beneficiary designations
Naming the OHSU Foundation as beneficiary of retirement plans, life insurance policies, transfer-on-death accounts and commercial annuities allows you control of the funds during your life and provides a probate-free transfer of assets. This type of estate gift can lessen both income and estate taxes.
Life income gifts
A life income gift enables you to make a significant contribution while protecting or improving your personal financial situation. These gift plans provide income for life or a term of years, an immediate income tax deduction and the potential for reduced estate taxes. The most common life income gifts are charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts.
Real estate with retained life interest
A gift of a remainder interest in real estate allows you to transfer ownership while retaining the right to live in your residence for the remainder of your life. An income tax deduction is available for a portion of the value of the real estate. It is also possible to convert the retained life interest to a stream of income.
Other planned gift opportunities
The OHSU Foundation also accepts other gift vehicles, including donor-advised funds and charitable lead trusts. Our gift planners are available to assist you in exploring the possibilities.
