OHSU Cancer Institute

The OHSU Cancer Institute exists for one purpose: to solve the problem of cancer. As one of 63 designated centers of the National Cancer Institute – and the only one between Sacramento and Seattle – the OHSU Cancer Institute is committed to translating discoveries into better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.

Here, more than 200 research scientists and medical professionals are hard at work seeking answers to understand and control cancer. Through a robust basic and clinical research program and compassionate, multidisciplinary care, the OHSU Cancer Institute brings new hope to patients and their families. Our revolutionary discoveries, such as Gleevec – the world’s first, targeted cancer therapy – have helped to save tens of thousands of lives around the world.

Cancer must be stopped. The OHSU Cancer Institute is dedicated to this purpose, but we cannot do it alone. We need partners. Your support is a priceless investment in lives to be saved and will help change the world.

Featured Priorities:

OHSU Cancer Institute General Fund

Your unrestricted gift will support the Institute's highest and most urgent priorities, including research studies, lab equipment, or new pilot projects – to advance cancer research and care.

Center for Cancer Cell Signaling

This center will advance the institute’s pioneering work to fight cancer at the molecular level, accelerating our ability to find more targets for cancer therapy and prevention. The center will house the laboratory of Brian Druker, M.D., director of the OHSU Cancer Institute and JELD-WEN Chair of Leukemia Research.
