Support the organization’s fundraising efforts

Enter data accurately into donor database
Provide general administrative support to the Research and Prospect Management team.

Director of Research and Prospect Management
The OHSU Foundation currently has an opening for a Director of Research and Prospect Management. Responsibilities include:
- Support the foundation’s mission by setting strategic vision for the prospect research and relationship management program as well as the unit’s analytical work
- Supervise the research and prospect management team
- Work closely with senior leadership in the development of policy for the research and prospect management office
- Provide a high level of service and support to the development staff
- Serve as a liaison to senior members of the development staff
- Participate in strategic policy development and work to successfully execute special projects in support of OHSU fundraising activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5+ years of professional experience (or educational equivalent) required in an analytical, research or information specialist role within an academic, nonprofit, corporate or consulting setting
- Proficiency at planning and setting meaningful objectives to integrate the work of Prospect Research and Management into the overall goals of DCHF and OHSUF
- Ability to understand and promote the goals and strategic plan of OHSUF and DCHF
- Organizational skills to handle several projects and meet deadlines while simultaneously accommodating shifting priorities
- Strong initiative, self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and in teams
Prior staff management responsibilities
- Ability to recruit, mentor and direct the development of research and prospect management staff: including setting performance standards and measures; providing appropriate levels of training, mentoring and professional development; and fostering a strong sense of teamwork and cross-functional communication and collaboration among direct reports, the development staff and with other groups within the OHSUF and the University
- Understanding philanthropy (mission, practice, trends) and fundraising practices (the development cycle, prospect management policies and practices)
- Familiarity with complex relational databases including extraction of data, information review and storage
- Experience with complex statistical analysis and programs
- Demonstrated ability to retrieve, analyze and synthesize information gathered from a variety of sources, (electronic, print, and people) in support of the fundraising process
- Excellent written/oral/interpersonal communication skills in order to: identify and articulate business challenges, project objectives, and analytical approach; prepare clear, concise reports that support planning and decision-making; be customer-oriented and have the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups
- Strong ethics and ability to keep confidences: must be able to handle confidential materials and situations with sensitivity and good judgment

- Experience in University fundraising
- Masters Degree

The Doernbecher Children’s Hospital Foundation has an opening for a Special Programs Manager to promote the organization’s interests through fundraising and awareness building. Responsibilities include:
- Manage all aspects of his/her assigned special programs, including community outreach, volunteer management and event planning

Requirements:

The OHSU Foundation has an opening for a Director of Development - Diabetes & Endocrinology, in the School of Medicine. Responsibilities of the position include:
- Raise significant levels of philanthropic contributions to OHSU Foundation in support of assigned programs and projects in the School of Medicine.
- Qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward major and principal gift prospects.
- Work closely with OHSU Foundation’s Gift Planning staff to develop and maximize strategies to secure major planned and estate gifts.
- Demonstrate leadership and collaboration in working with peers, support staff, OHSU staff and faculty in developing new major gift support in multiple departments in the School of Medicine.
- Supervise staff or consultants working on annual event planning and administration.
- Other administrative responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, such as liberal arts, marketing or science.
- 5+ years fund raising experience, especially in major and planned gifts.
- Proven record of knowledge of all aspects of development including major gifts, planned gifts, campaigns, annual giving, direct mail, and volunteer management.
- Proficiency with various computer programs, including office suite applications and development-specific applications.
- Ability to understand complex issues and financial reports related to medical education in a multi-tiered, academic medical institution.
- Strong interpersonal skills; proven ability to work effectively with many different constituencies- especially physicians, academic community, trustees, business leaders and volunteers.
- Entrepreneurial in nature; creative, self-starting and oriented toward action and results.
Strong writing skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to organize time effectively, establish priorities and manage a large number of tasks simultaneously.

The Doernbecher Children’s Hospital Foundation has an opening for a Major Gifts Officer, to be part of the major gifts, grants and stewardship team. The Major Gifts Officer will identify, cultivate and steward major donors in an effort to raise significant philanthropic contributions in support of Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and designated pediatric programs at OHSU.
Responsibilities include:
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and prospects
- Design and implement comprehensive individual and foundation cultivation and solicitation strategies
- Maintain close relationship with administrative officials at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, the Department of Pediatrics faculty, and other child services managers in the planning, execution and facilitation of major gift solicitations
- Conduct proactive prospect research to identify funding opportunities
- Support all aspects of major donor stewardship
Requirements:
- 5+ years of successful fund development experience including major gift solicitation
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in effective management of a major gifts staff
- Proven record of knowledge and experience in principal and major gifts fundraising
- Experience in the full spectrum of philanthropic fund development, including major gifts, capital campaigns, annual giving, prospect research, and proposal development.
- Basic knowledge of the commonly used vehicles in charitable estate planning
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work effectively with many different constituencies, especially the academic community, trustees, business leaders and volunteers
