Newly licensed RNs hired into patient care areas receive individualized preceptored orientations with the care team you have joined. Classroom and clinical time facilitate your transition to professional nursing.
General nursing orientations begin the 2nd. and 4th. week of each month. You may start on a date mutually agreeable to you and your manager once you have received your Oregon RN license and successfully completed a background check and drug screen.
Oregon is a mandatory RN licensure state. You must possess a valid Oregon RN license to work in a RN job position.

Adult ICU Internship Requirements:
Experienced RNs must have a minimum of one year recent acute care hospital inpatient experience.
Newly Licensed RNs must have a minimum of 130 clinically precepted hours in a critical care unit during their senior year. In lieu of these 130 hours requirement, a newly licensed RN may be considered with one or more of the following preferred qualifications: experience as a certified nursing assistant, LPN, unit clerk, or patient care technician in an acute care hospital; student patient care technician or student extern in an acute care hospital; previously obtained undergraduate or graduate degree; demonstrated ECG rhythm interpretation skills; successful completion of advanced cardiac life support class.
